Grab a Chair! “Real Good” Marketing Experiment.

Blu Dot Real Good Experiment We’ve seen something like this before. Reminds me of the Free Goodie Bag Scavenger Hunt. A New York designer planted couture handbags all over the city for anyone to find and keep. Handbag hunters could find location clues posted on Twitter.

Giveaways can be used with creative ideas like these to gain exposure and brand awareness.

In this case a furniture company, Blu Dot, placed sleek metal chairs around New York City. The campaign was based on the idea that people love to find good used furniture left out … Continue Reading

Promote a Good Conversation

douwe_egberts_coffee_cup
The concept for this ad campaign is that a good conversation goes hand in hand with a good cup of coffee. So, Douwe Egberts launched the campaign “A good conversation starts with Douwe Egberts”. These disposable cups have been customized with unique topics that would potentially fire-up a conversation. Assuming that you still have your spoon or mixer, it would decide the topic of your conversation depending on which it lined up with. A lot of interesting discussions came about as a result and beneficially more coffee was sold.

Guinness Halloween Shadow Coasters

Custom Die Cut Guinness Halloween Shadow Coasters
I know Halloween has already passed but I couldn’t give up the opportunity to talk about this ad campaign. What an awesome promotion using custom coasters.

The goal was to generate traffic to local bars on Halloween night. They needed something inexpensive and unique. For every Guinness bought a ghostly shadow shaped coaster was given. Each coaster transformed the shadow of a glass of Guinness into a scary and fun goblin. People really enjoyed the idea and wanted to take the coasters home. Guinness sales boomed that night.

Big Spills Draw a Crowd

Bounty Big Spills On the streets of New York and Los Angles, Bounty successfully demonstrated how well their product works for consumers. The ad above reads:

“What better way to demonstrate the superior absorbency of Bounty paper towels than with some big spills. And they are talking about some seriously big spills. On Seventh Avenue in New York, busy commuters are greeted by a six foot tall coffee cup knocked over and spilling onto the sidewalk - complete with steam and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. And in Los Angeles, weekend shoppers find a … Continue Reading

Dress Things Up! (water bottle & “hoodie”)

Hooded Sweatshirt Sports Water Bottles
When we were little kids, my sister and I used to catch frogs and then dress them up in “clothes” we fashioned out of tissues. I know…it borders on animal cruelty, but we were only trying to make them fabulous. The Sweatshirt Water Bottle dresses things up in a non-traumatizing way; specifically, with a “hoodie” for your water bottle. It is a BPA-free, biodegradable water bottle covered with a hooded sweatshirt. Plus, there’s a front pocket on it to hold things, such as your tickets to the big college game. … Continue Reading

Hotel Promotion Goes Green Bananas

Banana Green Hotel Advertisement

This is an ad campaign for a Swedish hotel, Scandic. The message is “Stay at a Scandic hotel this summer and book before the prices ripen.” The hotel chain is encouraging guest to book rooms early to receive discounted rates. Prices will ripen upon the arrival of summer.

A unique and clever concept, however, they could have imprinted a Banana Stress Ball with a slightly different expression. Like, “prices that never ripen.”

Cool Nike Advertisement – Dynamic Typography

Nike Soccer and Sports Advertising
Amazing to look at, even if you can’t read French. The message is clear in the imagery. It conveys a message of power, confidence, expectation and strength. A dynamic play with typography; this piece creates movement with a play on words. An example of successful advertising that is beautiful to look at by DDB Paris for Nike Soccer.

It would be fun to see how we could play with creative typography on your next imprinted promotional sports item.
