KFC Repaired Pothole Marketing

As a different approach, to save money on advertising and to do something good for the community, KFC instead spent their advertising budget on repairing potholes in select cities.

Everybody wins with this campaign. The city gets their potholes fixed while KFC get’s to advertise their logo in major metropolitan areas. Just like their fresh chicken, cities around the country have “fresh” streets. Spray painted on the street, “Re-freshed by KFC” The company gains a good reputation for positive marketing.

Candy Company Trade Show Advertisement

Hanging from the doors of hotel guests attending the All Candy Expo in Chicago were these creative door hangers. One of the sponsors for the trade show was the candy company, Just Born. They advertised their products on these beautiful “do not disturb” signs with the catchy tag line “Don’t make a peep.”

I wonder if guest found any candy gifts in their rooms.

Hotel Promotion Goes Green Bananas

Banana Green Hotel Advertisement

This is an ad campaign for a Swedish hotel, Scandic. The message is “Stay at a Scandic hotel this summer and book before the prices ripen.” The hotel chain is encouraging guest to book rooms early to receive discounted rates. Prices will ripen upon the arrival of summer.

A unique and clever concept, however, they could have imprinted a Banana Stress Ball with a slightly different expression. Like, “prices that never ripen.”

Study Shows Promo Gifts are Very Impressionable

Results from the 2008 Advertising Specialties Impressions Study by ASI prove that advertising gifts create positive impressions. A team of interviewers surveyed 465 business people in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
42% of respondents had a MORE favorable impression of an advertiser after receiving the item. And nearly a quarter (24%) said they are MORE likely to do business with the advertiser on the items they receive.
